National Security Simulation Participant

About:

Ohio State University invited students from E.W. Scripps School of Journalism to join a simulated environment relating to national security to practice crisis communication skills.

​

I role-played as the Deputy Press Secretary for the Governor of Ohio during the two-day event.

​

Contributions:​

  • Wrote press releases under pressure and in response to crisis

  • Collaborated closely with the simulated Policy Advisor to the Governor

  • Interacted with the press and informed them of the Governor's calculated responses to simulated crises

  • Explored issues relating to state-national-international security and emergency response management

Journalism from Manchester Metropolitan University wanted to cover the 2020 Election results live and understand the election from an American perspective. 

​

Students from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism were invited to connect with these students, as well as others from across the nation.

Contributions:​

  • Connected with foreign students to explain the election process in-depth

  • Answered questions that they had relating to American government​

  • Provided perspective from event as they unfolded
